The Registry Registrar Data Group (RRDG) was founded to bring European ccTLD registries and their registrars together to jointly progress the topic of registry data and in particular common approaches to data classifications, frameworks and standards. The RRDG is supported by CENTR, the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries and has participation from registries and registrars based mostly in Europe. If you are a registry or registrar and would like to get involved, please read more here and get in touch.
The RRDG works mainly via its sub-groups which are smaller groups of interested individuals. Once the RRDG has identified a project idea, its scope, objectives and goals are planned and a call for volunteers and lead on the project is sent out. The way in which a sub-group works is entirely dependent on the group. To date the RRDG has produced several key outputs (see completed projects) to which many of are already being used by organisations in the domain name industry.
